Cookie Policy

This page explains the small bits of browser storage Feedback Journey uses. We keep this simple: we only use the storage needed to run the website and app, and we do not use analytics, marketing, or tracking cookies. We do count page views, but that happens on our server without cookies — see below.

The specific cookies and storage we use

NameTypePurposeLifetime
LANGNecessaryRemembers your chosen language in the app.~1 year
invitedByNecessaryRemembers which organization invited you so the join flow works across the login redirect.7 days
Login / session storageNecessaryKeeps you signed in to the app (handled by our authentication provider, Auth0).Session / sign-in lifetime

Some of these are first-party cookies scoped to feedbackjourney.com so the same preference can be read on go.feedbackjourney.com. The sections below explain the categories in plain language.

What do we use cookies or similar storage for?

Necessary

These are used so Feedback Journey can work properly.

  • Language preference: the app can remember your chosen language with the LANG cookie.
  • Login/session handling: the app and authentication flow may use session-related cookies or similar storage so you can sign in and stay signed in.

Can the same cookie be used on both domains?

Yes, in many cases. Because feedbackjourney.com and go.feedbackjourney.com are part of the same parent domain, a cookie can be set for feedbackjourney.com so both hosts can read it. We use that approach where it is useful and appropriate, for example for shared preferences. It does not work the same way for completely unrelated domains.

Do you use analytics, marketing, or ad cookies?

No. We do not use marketing or ad cookies, and our analytics do not use cookies either. Because everything we store in your browser is strictly necessary to run the website and app, there is no cookie banner or consent choice to make.

But you said you count page views — how?

With Trackking, analytics software we built ourselves and run on our own server. It counts a page view as the page is requested, so there is no cookie, no browser storage, and no tracking script running in your browser. Nothing is sent to an external analytics vendor.

It records the page you opened, the linking site’s domain, your user agent, and a few ordinary request headers. Your IP address is hashed into a daily-rotating visitor code the moment the request arrives and is then discarded — it is never stored, and the codes cannot be linked across days. Because none of this reads or writes anything on your device, it does not require consent under the cookie rules. The privacy policy has the full description.

Quick summary

  • Necessary cookies/storage: yes
  • Analytics cookies: no (page views are counted server-side, without cookies)
  • Marketing cookies: no
